Joseph Serino, MD

Orthopaedic Surgeon Specializing in Hip & Knee Replacement

Dr. Joe Serino is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He primarily cares for patients with hip or knee arthritis and also helps those experiencing complications from a prior joint replacement. With a highly personalized approach, Dr. Serino offers advanced options including robotic-assisted knee replacement, computer-guided hip replacement, and minimally invasive techniques. By combining precision technology with proven surgical expertise, he helps patients return to an active, healthy life.

Dr. Serino graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he received the John N. Delahay award for excellence in orthopedic surgery. He completed his residency at Rush University Medical Center before pursuing advanced training with an adult reconstruction fellowship at OrthoCarolina. Dr. Serino has published numerous studies and textbook chapters in the field of joint replacement. His clinical and academic work have earned several awards, and he has been inducted into both the Phi Beta Kappa (undergraduate) and Alpha Omega Alpha (medical) honor societies. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).

Outside of medicine, Dr. Serino enjoys spending time outdoors with family and friends. He is an avid traveler and hiker year-round, loves fishing, sailing, and tennis during the summer, and skiing during the winter.

Care Philosophy

“My care philosophy is simple: I treat every patient with the same exceptional care I would want for my own family. From your first visit, I’ll partner with you to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique goals—so you can return to the active, pain-free life you deserve.

I believe that clear, open communication is the foundation of this partnership. I take the time to explain your condition and all available treatment options so you can make confident, informed decisions about your care. My team and I are committed to being extremely accessible, so your questions get answered and you feel supported throughout your journey.”
