Neelesh Katkar, DPT

Neelesh graduated with a bachelor’s in Physical Therapy in 2009 from K.E.M Hospital, Mumbai, India. After that, he worked in a clinic focusing on orthopedics and sports rehabilitation for two years. Neelesh then took a sabbatical, pursuing a postgraduate diploma in sports and exercise physical therapy from Cardiff University in Wales, United Kingdom. Upon returning, he started to work again with his previous employer and also worked in the Indian Olympics juniors boxing camp for two years. During this stint, Neelesh was spotted by an organization working in the Indian Seniors Olympics, which recruited him to handle three sports for them: badminton, javelin, and Olympic shooting.Neelesh started understanding the science behind human well-being in the Olympic shooting.

He began developing his physical therapy approach, which encompassed knowledge of myofascial structures, including their internal and external influences. After coming to the United States in 2018, Neelesh implemented this understanding with much appreciation from patients, co-workers, and supervisors. He also pursued and completed a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Touro College, New York.

Based on his experience, Neelesh has developed a keen interest and efficacy in myofascial release and chronic pain management to complement his understanding of orthopedic conditions and anatomy, diagnosis, and management. In his free time, he continues to build upon this approach by updating himself with current research.

Nothing gives him more joy in this world than playing with his children, who are and will continue to be the center of his universe.
