Physical Therapy

Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland has qualified professionals and outstanding on-site state-of-the-art physical therapy facilities at our Catonsville, Columbia, Eldersburg, Ellicott City, and Jessup, Maryland locations through MidAtlantic Sports Therapy & Rehab.

Physical Therapy

Our team of licensed physical therapists and occupational therapy certified hand therapists understands that each patient has unique rehabilitation needs before or after surgery, or as a result of a medical condition or orthopaedic injury. Our highly trained physical therapy and occupational hand therapy team offers individualized treatment plans to help our patients reach their highest level of independent functioning.

What is the difference between an occupational therapist and a physical therapist?

An occupational therapist helps you with performing day-to-day activities. A physical therapist helps you to get back in motion. In some cases, you may start with a PT to build back your muscle strength, and then switch to an OT.

Physical therapy services offered at Orthopaedic Associates of Central Maryland include:

      • Core Stability Training
      • Dry Needling
      • Gait and Balance Training
      • Hand Therapy and Splinting
      • Joint Mobilization
      • Myofascial Release
      • Neuromuscular Re-education
      • Postural Education
      • Pre and Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
      • Manual and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)
      • Sports Injury Rehabilitation
      • Return to Running Programs
      • Therapeutic Exercise
      • Vasopneumatic Compression

Our Physical Therapy Team now also provides to you, via MedBridge, individualized Home Exercise Programs with photos, easy to follow steps and instructions, and videos, which can be accessed online via browser and mobile app. You can read more about your condition, and even keep track of your progress.
