Dr. Michael Wallace is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine. His areas of clinical interest include:

- Arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, hip, and knee –
- Shoulder: rotator cuff tears, labral tears, biceps tears
- Hip: labral tears, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI)
- Knee: ACL/PCL tears, meniscus tears

Dr. Wallace earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York, and performed a sports medicine fellowship at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
During his fellowship, Dr. Wallace had the privilege of working with professional sports teams including the Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Blast. He has also worked with several colleges including Loyola University, Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University, and Stevenson University, as well as several high schools. He has been the team physician for Atholton High School in Columbia, Maryland, since 2009.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Wallace earned engineering degrees: he completed a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York.
While pursuing his medical degree, Dr. Wallace was the recipient of several honors and distinctions including the Medical Scholars Program in Microanatomy; Pi Tau Sigma Mechanical Engineering Honor Society; Outstanding Scholar Award; Dean's List; Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society; and the University of Maryland Honors Program.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Arthroscopy Association of North America, and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Dr. Wallace's research is published in peer-reviewed medical journals. Most recently, Dr. Wallace has been chosen as the new Service Line Leader for the Orthopaedic Department at Northwest Hospital. Together, Dr. Ronald Delanois, System Chief, Department of Orthopaedics LifeBridge and Dr. Wallace are committed to advancing Orthopaedics at Northwest and growing the service line. When not at work, Dr. Wallace enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys, coaching their soccer and basketball teams, spending time at the beach, and playing golf.
